OUR Generation Musicians to Play Vantastival 2025

OUR Generation is thrilled to announce that six exciting young musical acts from Donegal, Newry, and Drogheda will take to the stage at Vantastival music festival this September as part of the OUR Generation Project.

The youngsters heading to Vantastival have been involved with OUR Generation through partner organisation Donegal Youth Service as well as local community organisations where OUR Generation has been delivering – Boomerang Youth Café in Drogheda and The Magnet Centre, Newry.

The groups will perform as part of the official line up at the family-friendly independent music festival in Drogheda, County Louth, and represent OUR Generation’s mission to support cross-border peacebuilding initiatives for young people across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland.

Sean McCluskey is the OUR Generation Youth Worker from Donegal Youth Service based in Drogheda. He was instrumental in securing the slot to showcase young people from OUR Generation at the festival. He said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for these young bands who are just starting out, but it’s about more than just music really, it’s about bringing young people together across borders, building peace and connection through creativity, giving young people a platform, as well as confidence and belief in themselves.”

The news comes as Donegal Youth Service recently celebrated another successful Party in the Park in Letterkenny, with this year’s event part of the Earagail Arts Festival. Now in its 19^th year, Party in the Park has the same ethos of creating a family-friendly event whilst providing a platform for young people, something OUR Generation has been delighted to be involved with over the past few years. Sean added:

“We all know the power of music and the arts in bringing people together and allowing youth a space and platform to be creative, to express themselves and have their voices heard. We are delighted to be able to give these young people that opportunity and we can’t wait to see and hear them perform live.”

The six acts confirmed to perform at Vantastival 2025 are: Ally Brett, Headcase, The Cassettes, Overgrown, Veridian and Stainless Steel.
