The OUR Generation project team noticed that there is an awareness day in the calendar for everything. From the likes of National Biscuit Day to World Mental Health Day.
A day for everything. Everything…. Except Transgenerational Trauma. This didn’t seem right for what is such an important issue in the lives of many people.
We decided that the theme Expanding the Conversation would be used as the theme and tagline for the inaugural Transgenerational Trauma Awareness Day.
There are several reasons as to why we attached that tagline to TTAD21
TTADTALK EVENT
We had an online event hosted by Action Mental Health CEO David Babington.
Some very special speakers joined us to cover different areas of Transgenerational Trauma.
The event had a short Q&A session at the end and was joined by more than 170 people online.
You can find out more about our speakers and their presentations here.
We also didn’t get to all the questions we were asked, however our panel agreed to answer any that came through after the event as best they could. We’ll have this with you as soon as possible. (this was last updated 16/12/21).
Social Media
Organisations and individuals joined us on social media under the #TTAD21 to spread the word of Transgenerational Trauma.
You can still find the key messages around Transgenerational Trauma that were created by Ulster University at the following YouTube Stream link.
Thank you to all those that changed profile pictures, cover photos and used the #TTAD21 on the day.
Going Forward
We want to use the fantastic launch pad of TTAD21 for momentum into TTAD22. If you would like to join us next year please sign up to this database below.
Sign up to the OUR Generation Database, and don’t worry we send very few emails, but when we do it’s normally good stuff! 🙂
